Pork is one of the most versatile and flavourful meats, and when it is properly reared and carefully prepared the results speak for themselves.
At Carnivore we select pork from trusted British farms that prioritise animal welfare, natural farming methods and slower growth. Good farming produces pork with better flavour, better texture and the crisp crackling everyone loves.
Our butchers prepare all pork products in house, from fresh cuts and roasting joints to our award-winning sausages and a wide range of ready-to-cook products.
Free Range
Our pigs are reared outdoors where they can live naturally in fields rather than confined buildings.
During the summer they cool themselves in mud wallows, protecting their skin from the sun. In winter they are provided with deep beds of clean straw where they can nest and keep warm.
Fresh air, space and exercise help keep the animals healthy and comfortable, reducing the need for medication and producing better quality pork.
Natural Cereal-Based Diets
Outdoor pigs need a balanced diet that supports their active lifestyle.
They are fed carefully developed cereal-based diets designed to support both animal welfare and exceptional pork quality. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure all feed ingredients are safe, responsibly sourced and fully traceable.
Good feeding and good farming are essential ingredients in producing great pork.
Traditional Preparation
Our skilled butchers prepare a wide range of pork products in the shop.
You will often see us making sausages from scratch, using quality cuts of pork and carefully balanced recipes. Many of our sausages have won awards and have become favourites with our customers.
We also produce a range of marinated pork products and ready-to-cook dishes that make it easy to enjoy great pork at home.
